The Two Choices

Much of the confusion we face is not because life is so complicated, but because we resist the obvious. Today we have only two choices, and they are kindness or selfishness. As we look out across the vast landscape of our life we see the opportunity to express either of these choices in a seemingly endless variety of ways. In our relationships, our business opportunities, our studies, and our recreation; in our joys, our sorrows, our courage, and our fears, we have the opportunity to simply choose. Here, in how we express our choices, is the beginning of our creativity.

Consistency is a vital part of creativity because in its absence we have confusion and ultimately chaos. In our relationships family, social, business, and otherwise, to live orderly lives, all of our activities must be executed consistent with our motivation. It is here in the application we often become confused, and view life as complex. It is often from the lack of consistency we become confused, and not from abundance or limits of the options before us. The closer we come to performing consistently the nearer we come to performing with excellence.

Life does not limit us with regard to the number of chances we have to make choices. Each breath we take is another opportunity to choose. If we find we chose inappropriately, we may simply choose again. This is grace in action; life does not give up on us even when we give up on it. We awoke this morning with the opportunity to make one of two choices, and then to express it in our comings and goings. Which will we choose?
